Wendelin

My name is Wendelin, a local historian born and raised in the Netherlands.

You’ll find me daily walking Amsterdam’s streets, giving tours with a passion — from its Golden Age grandeur to its resistance roots in WWII.

I love nothing more than sipping a beer with friends in a canalside cafe, reading a book on the Middle Ages, or spending time with my wife and (newborn!) son.

Whether we’re tracing canals, stepping through centuries-old courtyards, or standing where Rembrandt once walked, my aim is to bring history to life — not from a textbook, but from the cobblestones beneath our feet.

Join me, and see the city not just as it is — but as it was.
